How to set up a challenge on dacadoo?

You can set up your own challenges to compete with friends on dacadoo very easily by using the mobile app (A) or the website (B). Please follow the following steps to create your challenge.
(A) Create a challenge on your mobile app
1) Basic setup
You need the latest version of the dacadoo application for iOS or Android on your smartphone.
(2) Log in to the dacadoo app
The first step (assuming you have already installed the app) will be to log in to the dacadoo application with your email and password. Then press Log In.
(3) Access the challenge page
Open your app and then click on the tab “Social” in the main user navigation. Then click on “Challenges”.
(4) Challenge overview page
You will see what available, accepted and finished challenges are listed. You will also see the “+” icon in the upper right corner.
(5) Set up a new challenge
Click on the “+” sign in the upper right corner to start the challenge setup process.
First, you will be asked to select the challenge activity(ies). Here you need to select the activity(ies) that will be allowed to track in your challenge:
- Click on “All Activities” if you want that all of the more than 115 activities available on dacadoo should be allowed for tracking.
- Click on “Set of Activities” if you want to select one or more activity(ies) that should be allowed for tracking.
You will then need to determine what the “Allowed tracking input” shall be:
- Click on “Manual entry only” if activities should be entered only manually on dacadoo. This is the case, when you finished a workout and you want to manually enter it.
- Click on “Automatic only” if activities should be entered only automatically that is while doing them. This is the case, when you track while doing your workout, such as GPS-based tracking of your running, cycling, etc.
- Click on “Manual and automatic entry” if both manual and automatic entries should be allowed. This is the most used setting.
Once you have defined both above, you click on “Next” in the upper right corner to continue to the next stage.
As next step, you will need to choose the goal of your challenge. You have a few options on what you can choose:
- Track the Most…
- Track the Most days with…
- Etc.
In each of those main challenge types, you can dive deeper and select specifically the goal you want for the challenge. In the example of “Track the Most…” you can define to Track the most Distance, Ascent, Descent, Energy or Duration.
The next step is to define whether your challenge will be an “Individual challenge” or a “Team challenge”. If it is a “Team challenge”, you will need to determine how the result should be calculated: “Team Total” or “Team Average”. We recommend using team average, if the sizes of each team are not the same. You then need to add each team with their names.
Please note that each challenge participant will join the teams him/herself. As a challenge creator you cannot assign people to the teams upfront.
Then click on “Done” in the upper right corner.
Thereafter you will be asked to define the duration of the challenge by entering the start date and time, as well as the end date and time. Users will be able to share their challenges to their friends.
If you are a corporate user and have administrator rights to a corporate group, you will be able to make the challenge visible only to the members of your company group.
Public challenges, which are accessible to all dacadoo users, can be created by dacadoo.
Click on “Next” in the right upper corner.
To conclude insert a “Title” and a “Description” for your challenge and it would be nice if you could also add a picture as well. You will be able to select the right size of the picture in the picture selection process.
Then click on “Create” to finalize the challenge creation process. Your challenge has been created and will become visible in the section “Available challenges” in the Challenge overview page to all your friends.
If you are a corporate user and you created a group challenge, your challenge will also be visible in the section “Groups”.
