Survey confirms that corporate health promotion is gaining importance

Survey confirms that corporate health promotion is gaining importance
In the first half of 2014, dacadoo conducted an online survey among companies located in Germany, Austria and Switzerland to gain better insights on current corporate health promotion practice and future trends.
40% of respondents mentioned that an organizational health process was in place in their company and 33% confirmed that corporate health promotion activities were being offered as part of their organizational health process.
According to the survey, already 25% of companies also offer online health promotion tools for their employees.
As 80% of respondents confirmed that the majority of their workforce uses smartphones today, it is likely that the mobile health solutions, that make use of mobile and wearable devices, will rise in the future, as the penetration of smartphones among the workforce is a key enabler to introduce online and mobile corporate health promotion solutions.
To measure the success of installed programs, companies are currently using still pretty classic KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators). Most popular are the number sick days (56%), absences (52%), questionnaires (44%), and employee fluctuation.
In terms of annual budget for corporate health care over 54% of the corporations have less than 100 EUR per employee and 13% have more than five times that amount (500 EUR) for yearly budget per employee.
